2025 Chalmers Project Carricante is grown in the Chalmers Murray Darling vineyard with grapes sourced from the Carricante ‘Mother Row’ from our nursery source material block. The soil profile in the Murray Darling is the perfect testing ground for new varieties as the sandy loam imparts little to no profile or influence on the wine showing the variety in its most pure fruited form.
There is no doubt that the native wines of Sicily are so hot right now, and at Chalmers we see a huge potential for Carricante to find some exciting sites and regions across Australia. The 2025 Chalmers Project Carricante has a subtle aromatic nose and shows a fresh, moreish, medium-weight textural pallet with bright ripe apple fruit and almond savouriness.
