Description
The 2025 vintage is a single variety wine made from 100% Aglianico, a variety that originates from southern Italy, a red variety that makes excellent rose styles. For us the Chalmers Rosato is not just about making a pink wine, but making a wine that is dry, savoury, detailed and can sit comfortably on the dinner table.
The Aglianico for this wine is grown on the Top Block of our Heathcote Vineyard which shows elegance, restraint, lift and a fine firm structure. Wild fermented in old French oak barrels allowing the wine to relax and take on delicate savoury notes, with aromas of pomegranate, blood orange, vanilla, raspberry leaf, and saline, its inviting and tangy, a wine that we’ve particularly fond of.
