Aptly named ‘Mother Block’, these wines come from our site at Chalmers Merbein Vineyard, the heart of all that we do. As well as it being the location of our family home and business, this unique and diverse vineyard is the adopted home to each variety that we’ve imported to Australia over the last 20 years. It is also the source block for supplying millions of vines planted across Australia through our vine nursery, hence the name.
This classic European style Rose is based on Sagrantino, Nero d’Avola, Vermentino and Nebbiolo. With its dusty pale pink appearance, it shows attractive aromas of classic strawberries and cream, orange blossom, sandalwood, pink grapefruit and musk. Red apple, pulpy brown pear, orange zest, blossom and tangy pomegranate seeds, dry and delicious.
