Description
The 2023 vintage marks the move back to a single variety wine being 100% Aglianico, a variety that originates from Campania and a red variety that makes excellent rose styles. For us the Chalmers Rosato is not just about making a pink wine, but making a wine that is dry, savoury, detailed and can sit comfortably on the dinner table.
The Aglianico for this wine is grown on the Top Block of our Heathcote Vineyard which shows elegance, restraint, lift and a fine firm structure. Wild fermented in old French oak barrels allowing the wine to relax and take on some savoury notes, with aromas of strawberry leaf, blood orange, cassia, and enoki mushroom, its persistent, and detailed, a wine that we’ve particularly fond of.
